Chloe a Goldsmiths graduate with a BA in English Literature. Prior to university Chloe had been discouraged from studying English Literature because, as a dyslexic, it was thought that she would not be able to achieve a degree focused on reading and writing. On hearing about Dysfest Chloe decided to volunteer in order to help alter preconceptions about dyslexia.

Jessica After being assessed for dyslexia, returned to education to do a degree in International Studies at Goldsmiths University.

Jessica feels strongly that addressing the methods of teaching and assessment used in schools and universities would open up the learning experience for those who might be excluded because of (their) dyslexia and/or learning style (kinaesthetic, aural, visual), and enable them to achieve their full potential.

Prior to her degree Jessica was self employed and worked for a family business for which she was involved in sales, accounts and business.

Press and Business

Rob is an award winning filmmaker, with experience working for Film Education. He is not dyslexic, however he has got a long standing interest in pedagogy and cinema. He is particularly interested in cognition and memory and how different styles of learning create different kinds of memory, though usually he employs this in a fictional context.

Nim: “The idea of dyslexia took on meaning for me when I started learning about otherness. Part of my own experience of being dyslexic has been to try to understand as well as explore that. I’ve approached it academically, embarking on a PhD in which I research dyslexic identities. Conceptually, by starting a dyslexic publishing company and, for want of a better word, creatively, performing and talking about my experiences and view of dyslexia on the stage. My current research interests include dyslexia, difference, gender, emotion and the philosophy of becoming.”
